We made it past Dry January and I have to say it is very nice to be back behind the bar mixing drinks again! I was about to post the drink I had the other night (Skull & Bones from Beachbum Berry’s Total Tiki App if anyone is interested…), and I thought instead I should post about some of the artwork and items you can find throughout The Invisible Isle instead.
So, to start I will show one of the first things you will find when you enter the bar (and also one of the newest additions to the bar as of this week). This is all art by my lovely wife all painted by hand. In the middle is a “paint by numbers” painting she did for me when my bar was nothing more than an outside patio back in California. I feel it helps set the vibe for The Invisible Isle right as you enter. On either side of the painting are two carved masks that my dad found for me back in California. While they were pretty on their own, they were all black, a little plain, and didn’t stand out much. To fix that, my very talented wife custom painted each of them and made each one a different so they would stand out. On the left you find the fire mask, let’s say he’s to ward off any bad fire spirits that would ever want to set fire to The Invisible Isle. On the right is the garden mask, he’s there to ensure there is always a feeling of spring and relaxation here in The Invisible Isle.
This will be the first of many posts about the interesting items you will find throughout The Invisible Isle… so come back soon to see more (or come and visit)!
